Uefa, Conmebol announce further collaboration with Club Challenge

Uefa and Conmebol, the governing bodies of Europe and South America respectively, are to collaborate further with the launch of the Club Challenge, a one-off match between the winners of the 2022-23 Europa League, Sevilla of Spain, and Independiente del Valle of Ecuador, winners of the 2022 Copa Sudamericana.
The Club Challenge will be played on July 19 at Sevilla’s Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium and will be named in honour of former Sevilla player Antonio Puerta, who died in 2007 aged 22 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
