Regis Le Bris’ club want to sign 27-year-old Tottenham man reportedly on Leeds radar

June 15, 2023

CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs says Lorient – managed by Leeds target Regis Le Bris – want to sign Tottenham man Harry Winks this summer, a player that has also been linked with a move to Leeds United in the coming weeks.

Winks, 27, has spent the last season on loan at Sampdoria. Injured for the first part of the season, the England star clocked up 20 Serie A outings for Andrea Radrizzani’s new club – but failed to prevent Sampdoria from relegation.

He will return to Spurs this summer, where he finds a year left on his deal. Samp News 24 claim that Leeds could be looking at Winks, but any club interested in him will have to wait until new boss Ange Postecoglou makes a decision.

Meanwhile, The Sun say Le Bris is on our radar. A L’Equipe report this week says Le Bris cannot imagine continuing at Lorient, amid interest from Leeds and Nice. Despite, Lorient saying they have rejected his request to depart.

So, Le Bris may end up staying with his contract running at Lorient until 2027 – and it might be that Winks ends up at the Ligue 1 side this summer. Jacobs says Ryan Mason’s former loan side are keen to land Leeds target Winks.

Jacobs: Lorient and Le Bris want Tottenham man Winks amid Leeds links

Leeds need a midfielder this summer. Perhaps, even two midfielders. Weston McKennie has gone, Marc Roca is said to be on his way to Real Betis and Tyler Adams has massive interest in his services. Adam Forshaw is also set to go.

Forshaw has been confirmed as being released, but talks are ongoing to keep him. It will be up to the new manager. But what is clear is that Leeds need both a manager, and midfielders. Winks would be a wonderful signing for Leeds.
