PSG Could Make Bold Move, Willing to Drop Mbappé from Rebuild Plans

The future of Kylian Mbappé remains uncertain at Paris Saint-Germain. After the 24-year-old opted not to trigger the option to extend his contract until 2025, the rumors of a possible departure began to swirl.

L’Equipe reported, citing a source, that the capital club has opened the door for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner to leave PSG this summer transfer window.

Additionally, the source told the French media outlet that the 2022-23 Ligue 1 champions have begun phase 2 of the new project, which is based on the squad and not on individuals.

While a couple of years ago it was a nightmare to see Mbappé leave Paris, the same source told L’Equipe that if PSG has to rebuild without him, they will. As a result, the French giants have reportedly put a request on the table for their star player.

Mbappé can sign a new contract and be at the center of this rebuilding project, or he will be sold this summer as it seems PSG won’t allow him to leave on a free transfer despite the player stating he wants to remain this 2023-24 season.
