Tuttosport: Leao awakened as Milan demolish Napoli to send a strong signal

AC Milan started April in the best possible way as they beat Napoli 4-0 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona last night, and some promising signs came from Rafael Leao.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports this morning, not even the most optimistic of Milan fans thought that such a result could be obtainable against the league leaders, but the Rossoneri dominated last night in their trip south.

The Scudetto will soon belong to Napoli, but from a Champions League perspective this result gives the Rossoneri greater confidence and perhaps takes away some of the optimism from the Partenopei that they could stroll into the semi-finals.

In Europe it will be a completely different story, but yesterday’s match showed that the Rossoneri are still more than capable of beating the best in the country, and Rafael seems to have finally ‘awakened from hibernation’.

The Portuguese winger had a few rather complicated weeks but the brace he scored meant that his goal drought ended after two and a half months. Milan need the best version of Leao for the top four race, and also in Europe.
