Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool future: ‘I will not go’

January 17, 2023

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has stated that his future is secure despite the club’s recent poor form, which has seen them drop to ninth in the Premier League after defeats to Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Klopp’s time at Borussia Dortmund ended similarly, with two Bundesliga titles and a Champions League final followed by a seventh-place finish.

However, he insisted that the circumstances were not comparable and hinted at upcoming changes in the summer.

“When I left Dortmund, I said, ‘Something has to change here.’ It was a different situation there, but in some ways it’s similar: either I go… or a lot of other things change,” Klopp, whose Liverpool contract expires in 2026, said.
